PROSPECTING FOR GOLD-SILVER-POLYMETALLIC MINERALIZATION WITHIN ZMEINOGORSK-BEREZOVOGORSK AREA

Ore potential was found for rhyolite silicicalcareous-terrigenous unit (Emsian to Early Givetian volcanic cycle) associated with Au-Ag-Pb-Zn deposit formation. Three ore fields, Zmeinogorskoye, Berezovogorskoye and Kandidatskoye, were identified within the area where Petrovsky, Vostochno-Maysky, Central-Berezovogorsky, Privet and Golovinsky-Gankovsky prospecting sites were recognized.

1:5,000-1:2,000 lithologic-stratigraphic, lithologic-facial, and geochemical maps and sections were compiled for them. Rock, ore and wallrock metasomatite composition was determined. Petrovsky, Vostochno-Maysky and Central-Berezovogorsky sites are most interesting.

Petrovsky site corresponds to Zarechenskoye and Srednee deposits forecasting-prospecting model. Two ore zones are hosted by Melnichnaya sequence rocks while one zone is hosted by Zavodskaya sequence rocks. The ore zones are bedded or lenticular, they extend for up to 1,500 m along strike and 700 m down dip, they are 1-27 m thick. Mineralization is represented by sphalerite and galena/pyrite dissemination, pockets and veinlets. The site is ready for licensing. It has significant inferred resources. It is located near Zarechensky mine/mill plant which improves its investment appeal.
