FSBI TsNIGRI takes part in UIMF 2019, Uzbekistan international mining forum

A.I. Chernykh, General Director of TsNIGRI, attended UIMF 2019, Uzbekistan international mining forum which was held on November 6, 2019 in Tashkent as part of the 14th International exhibition, "Mining, metallurgy and metal processing - MiningMetalsUzbekistan 2019", in Uzexpocenter national exhibition complex; it was officially supported by the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The forum was attended by more than 200 delegates and 20 speakers including representatives of mining companies, international financial institutions, ministries, geological and mining experts industry from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Australia and South Africa.

As part of the international forum, mining industry experts discussed key issues of promoting innovations in deposit exploration and development, mineral mining and digital technology development.

A.I. Chernykh moderated the session, "Gold: raising capital for exploration and production"; as part of this session, he presented a report, "The Russian gold mineral base as a basis for investment in nonfuel mineral exploration and production".

The session reviewed various aspects of gold mineral base development, exploration features and investment projects implementation in Uzbekistan. During the forum, working meetings were held with of the H.M. Abdulayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics management and Navoi mining and metallurgical combine’s Geological Survey.

During his working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, A.I. Chernykh visited Muruntau, one the world’s largest gold deposits, located in the southwestern Kyzylkum desert, Navoi region; this visit was assisted by the owner company.

As part of the visit, he looked at the central gamma-activation analysis laboratory activities, discussed the most essential mine geology issues with the Department’s geologists and visited one of the world's largest gold mines.
