The Atlas of quantitative morphological, chemical, associative and other features of native gold of the Russian lode and placer deposits has been generated on the basis of databases developed, compiled and processed in TsNIGRI. Gold particle features of the most abundant lode deposit types, gold-bearing crusts of weathering, various genetic and age placer deposit types, platform cover are characterized. The mathematical analysis for determination of the informative weights of individual properties for gold particles and aggregates in various deposit types as possible typomorphic indicators or criteria for design of their genetic systematization has been applied in the book. Indicator models of native gold for lode gold deposits are designed, indications of primary gold transformation in crusts of weathering and placers are presented. The recommendations on the use of the native gold typomorphism for gold deposits prospecting have been offered. Typical mineral gold parageneses and intergrowths, morphology, surface characteristics and internal structure have been illustrated with 264 photographs. The book contains pictures-collages with native gold particles.
The Atlas is for use by a wide community of scientists, geologists, engineers, professors and students of Universities and Mining Schools and also everyone who is fond of unique beauty of Nature. English and Russian versions of the Atlas are published.
