A senior researcher of placer geology department, PhD, honorary subsurface exploring worker (1993). From 1943 to 1945, he fought in Sinyavin, Gatchina, Gdov and Narva regions. He was awarded Red Star and Patriotic War orders, and Distinguished Service medals.
