PROSPECTING TO EVALUATE POTENTIAL GOLD-RICH PYRITE-POLYMETALLIC MINERALIZATION OF MAIN ORE DISTRICTS AND CLUSTERS WITHIN SALAIR MINERAGENIC ZONE
Prospects at ore-field scale (Ognevo-Zaimkovskaya, Vershinnaya-Kamenushinskaya, Uskandinskaya, etc.) were identified, their potential and undiscovered resources were estimated. In ore districts and clusters, pyrite-polymetallic mineralization was defined at two main stratigraphic levels within Early Cambrian Pecherkinsky volcanosedimentary deposits (bottom to top): I – in the lower successively differentiated basalt-andesite-dacite-rhyolite formation, II – in the contrast basalt-rhyolite formation.
Analysis of volcanosedimentary rocks’ vent, circumvent, intermediate and remote facies distribution in Ognevo-Romanovsky ore district suggested that a major volcanotectonic depression contains two minor volcanic structures (Romanovskaya in the west and Ognevskaya in the east) which define forecasted ore field position. Similar to Salair ore district, the upper pyrite-polymetallic mineralization level is confined to this formation.
Ognevo-Zaimkovskaya area (ore field) confined to a volcanic depression composed of Lower Cambrian volcanogenic-carbonate-terrigenous units is most prospective. Two other zones (gold-silver pyrite-polymetallic mineralization type) are recognized within the area.
